Bernard Keogh

Managing Director

Bernard has more than 30 years’ experience of managing construction projects for various large companies. He set up Arque to provide a more personal, cooperative approach to building quality projects, and is known for getting contracts finished on time and on budget using a professional, friendly approach. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Bernard gets away from it all by surfing the North coasts of Devon and Cornwall.

Nigel Parker

Operations Manager

Nigel is responsible for the operations of the business, including estimating and contract management.

Nigel has been successfully managing construction projects and small works for 25 years and has worked for well reputed local building companies in this time and joined Arque in 2016. His professional approach is client-focused and he is known for delivering contracts within budget in an unflappable manner, providing service with a smile. In his spare time, he is Chairman of Central Youth Football Club and is also the Boardroom host for Exeter City Football Club.

Martyn Phillips

Contracts Manager

Martyn has a proven track record of successful construction management on small works and contracts. He has been working in the construction industry for  30 years and has been at Arque for 9 years. He has a wealth of knowledge which helps bring projects in on time and on budget and he goes out of his way to make sure the client is happy. Martyn holds an Advanced Carpentry Certificate and the CITB Construction Site Safety Manager’s Certificate.

Lloyd Phelps

 Senior Estimator 

Lloyd has worked as an estimator for 8 years and brings a wealth of experience to the team.  He has a strong background in construction having worked on site for 4 years before making the transition into estimating.  In his spare time Lloyd enjoys running and manages Sandford Football Club. 

Louise Tremayne

Office Manager

Louise is highly organised; by ensuring the smooth running of the office, she enables the team to direct their efforts into building. Louise has been at Arque for 9 years. She also organises our training, keeps us on track with Health and Safety requirements and is our Environmental Manager. Outside of work Louise enjoys running her own therapy business, walking, running and yoga.

Becky Poole

Finance Manager

Becky has been involved in the finances of Arque in some respect since 2007. She is now back in the role of Finance Manager and brings with her many years of experience. Becky is an efficient and detail focused accountant with a great knowlege of how to keep the company thriving, ensuring all the books are properly balanced. Her experience is supported by her FMAAT and AATQB accounting qualifications. In her free time, Becky enjoys running her own bookkeeping business and spending time with her family.

Billy Keogh

Construction and Business Development Coordinator

A 2020 Graduate of Politics and International Relations and Site Labourer for Arque, Billy is an effective and friendly communicator who ensures that anyone who he works with comes out of the experience with an extremely positive and fully satisfactory outcome.

He completed his dissertation on the fair use of data in advertising in political campaigns, and is extremely capable in all forms of IT, be it customer support or digital advertising. Billy is also responsible for running the Arque Social Media. To relax, he enjoys gaming, going to see live music, and wakeboarding.

Aaron Saunders

Senior Site Manager

Aaron has a wealth of construction experience from the ground up and the ground down. He has many skills including stonemasonry and groundworks. Aaron has been at Arque for over 10 years and in the construction industry for 30 years. Diligent in his approach, he ensures that sites are safe, clean and aims to complete ahead of time. He has many qualifications including his NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management, and CITB SMSTS Certificate. Aaron is a keen gardener and enjoys fishing.

Martin Branch

Site Manager

Martin is a skilled carpenter by trade, starting as an apprentice at the age of 16. He has a great deal of experience in his role, having worked on sites across the country and more recently in Exeter. He has been a site manager for 15 years and enjoys the specialist carpentry work his role at Arque brings. Martin holds the site manager’s SMS TS certificate and is also a first aider. In his spare time he plays golf - although is keeping his ‘decidedly average’ handicap a secret!

Gary Rees

 Site Manager

Gary Rees is another extremely experienced site manager that we are proud to have on the team. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the industry, with expertise in carpentry and joinery, and experience in pretty much all aspects of construction. Gary has been running sites for Arque for 2 years now, and enjoys following Exeter Chiefs Rugby.

Kevin Phillips

 Site Manager

Kevin is an experienced all round builder and Site Manager who has been in the industry for over 21 years. Kevin specialises in carpentry but like his brother, he can produce skilled work in pretty much any area of building. He brings a wealth of experience in managing medium sized sites, and is a proactive and tidy manager. Kevin enjoys fishing and spending time with his family in his spare time.

Lee Argent

 Site Manager

Another fairly recent addition to our team, Lee Argent is an experienced Operative with 13 years in the industry. He has been running sites in both commercial and domestic settings, and excels at bringing Arque’s client- focused ethos into construction. Lee holds his NVQ Level 3 in Site Carpentry, as well as SMSTS. In his spare time, Lee enjoys spending time with his family and indulging himself in a bit of online gaming.
