The Forum Doors, Exeter University

The Forum is the central meeting hub of Exeter's University and its busiest building.  The Forum has hundreds and sometimes thousands of students, staff and visitors all passing through the doors.

Arque were selected to carry out the entrance upgrade work because of their experience at smoothly managing sites located in busy areas keeping disruption to a minimum. This project was design and build, where are had to carefully measure and consider to install the new structures. This involved removing the existing revolving doors, excavating and forming new foundations for the new structure, then craning in new iron glazing panels, and 2 sets of sliding glass doors. This required careful management of engineers and operatives to ensure the project was completed safely and concisely.

Arque coordinated the construction through detailed planning and constant communication with managers and building users.  This minimised disturbance and allowed the academic work to continue unhindered.

Arque successfully delivered the project maintaining good access at all times which allowed the building to function seamlessly.
