University of Exeter, Queens Wellcome trust refurbishment

The works consisted of a complete internal refurbishment of the centre, which is based in the Queens Building on the main campus of Exeter University and dates back to the 1960s. The project involved changing use from classrooms to a modern open space which combines collaborative and academic uses. Through the work the building was updated and made fit for purpose, with the demolition of internal walls to create larger more open areas. The work also entailed new windows, ceilings, purpose made joinery, fire doors, flooring, decorations, graphics and the total replacement of mechanical and electrical systems.
